“Slow down, you move too fast . . .”  Slow Art Day is a global celebration of art that encourages people to look at art SLOWLY—and thereby experience the work in a whole new way. The Aldrich will join in the Slow Art Day celebration for the second time, joining venues around the world in simultaneously commending the pleasures of taking a leisurely, but in-depth look at the works on view.

Educator Suzanne Enser-Ryan will utilize two works of art in the current Found themed exhibitions to facilitate discussion, spending at least half an hour with each piece. The conversation will continue over refreshments.

This experiential workshop is part of The Aldrich’s concurrent Conference on Creativity, http://www.aldrichart.org/events/?id=1364, and will clarify the importance of slowing down to take a contemplative look as a gateway to creativity.

Slow Art Day

Slow Art Day is a global nonprofit with a simple mission: to promote the art of looking at art slowly.

Through this mission, we hope to increase the love of art and the support for museums, galleries and artists all over the world.

Our main activity each year is to organize the international Slow Art Day with volunteers in cities on every continent (yes, even Antaractica).
